Lake Havasu marinas and wet slips
Research methodology

Data methodology

How marina, slip, depth, amenity, and pricing data is collected, structured, and verified.

01

Marina catalog

Our marina catalog is built from many trusted sources:

  • State DNR and harbormaster registries.
  • USACE navigation databases and NOAA chart data.
  • Marina-published websites and dockmaster calls.
02

Marina record

Each marina record stores key trip-planning facts:

  • Coordinates, slip count, max LOA, and max beam.
  • Controlling depth and shore-power options.
  • Amenities and status flags (liveaboard, transient, hurricane-safe, looper-friendly).
03

Pricing

Pricing reflects ranges seen across published rate sheets and dockmaster calls in the past 12 months. We publish ranges, not single prices, because:

  • Rates change by season and contract length.
  • Slip type and electricity inclusion change the total.
  • Marina-specific prices are only shown if the marina confirms them in writing.
04

Amenities

We tag amenities from a standard internal taxonomy (fuel dock, pump-out, pool, laundry, restaurant, repair, 100A power, Wi-Fi, and more). A tag is only added when we confirm it from:

  • The marina's own website.
  • A state Clean Marina record.
  • A direct dockmaster call.
05

Depth & beam

We publish controlling depth at mean lower low water (MLLW) when we can. If MLLW is not available, we show the marina's self-reported depth and label it. Always verify depth at low tide before you book.

06

Weather & tide

Weather, wind, tide, and visibility on the site come from deterministic models tied to location. Use them for general planning only. They do not replace:

  • NOAA marine forecasts.
  • Official tide tables.
  • Current local observations.
07

Update cadence

We refresh data on a clear schedule:

  • Marina records: continuous user reports plus a 12-month audit.
  • Pricing pages: reviewed twice a year.
  • Weather and tide data: updated on every page load.
