Sources we use
Marina listings are compiled from publicly available marina websites, dockmaster phone interviews, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers waterway charts, NOAA chart data for depth and channel context, state and municipal port-authority filings, and industry directories. Pricing ranges are aggregated from published marina rate cards, reservation platforms, and direct quotes shared with our research team.
How we verify a marina
- • Cross-check marina name, address, and basin location against NOAA charts.
- • Confirm slip count, maximum LOA, and power service from the marina's own published materials whenever possible.
- • Spot-check liveaboard rules, storm policies, and transient acceptance through dockmaster contact when listings disagree.
- • Flag obvious anomalies (closed marinas, ownership changes, post-storm reconstruction) for re-review before publishing.
How pricing is presented
Per-foot dockage rates change with season, demand, fuel cost, insurance market, and storm exposure. WetSlipFinder publishes planning ranges — not live quotes. Every cost guide is meant to help boaters budget and ask better questions, not to replace a written quote from the marina. See our pricing disclaimer for the full position.
Update cadence
City and marina pages are reviewed at least annually. Pricing, transient and liveaboard rules, and storm-season policies are reviewed before each peak season in the relevant region. Every published page carries a "Last updated" date in the editorial meta block at the bottom.
When we are wrong
Marinas change owners, dredge schedules slip, hurricanes redraw basins, and posted rates move faster than research can keep up. If you find an out-of-date listing or a price that no longer matches reality, tell us through contact and we will correct the page and credit the source where appropriate.
Independence
WetSlipFinder does not accept payment for inclusion in marina or city listings, and editorial rankings are not for sale. Sponsored marina placements, when offered in the future, will be visually labeled and never used inside guides, comparisons, or pricing pages. See our editorial policy and data methodology for related standards.
