Before you read
Most faq topic write-ups skim the surface and leave you with the same answer for every boat. This one is built around the questions that actually move a dockage decision: how marinas measure your boat, how they bill, and which clauses to read twice before signing.
Marina amenities range from a single restroom to full resort experiences with pools, restaurants, spas, and concierge. The amenity mix drives both slip rate and the kind of boater you'll dock next to.
Core amenities every reputable marina should have: restrooms/showers, fresh water at the slip, metered power, dock-cart access, secure parking, and either on-site or arranged pump-out. Below this, slip rates should drop significantly.
Mid-tier adds: laundry, ice, ship's store, fuel dock, on-site repair access. These signal a marina that takes service seriously and usually correlates with active dockmasters and reliable communication.
Premium adds: pool, restaurant or bar, concierge/provisioning, beach access, fitness center, and dedicated crew/owner lounges. These run 30–60% above no-frills marinas in the same harbor but transform the experience into resort living.
